Task 1! Part 2

studio photography is pictures taken in a studio or pictures of a studio, professional cameras are used and lots of lights.

i like studio pictures as the picture is finer and more defined i dislike studio as there are too many lights which makes the item of photography look fake.

http://www.photographers.com.au/liquid-photography image 18 of 51 is a studio picture of a young girl dressed in red and white against a white studio room. lighting has been used to create a shadow behind her onto the wall the light is project straight onto her to give that kind of shadow. it’s a still photograph and fan has also been used to create a wind effect onto the child’s hair her stance is very dominate showing strength and power

http://www.photographers.com.au/simonestoicov image 41 of 43 is again a picture of a woman silhouetted against the horizon. her body is almost in a unnatural position and the lighting used is a natural using the sunset background tiny amount of light appear onto her back giving a effect that i wish i could do that. the photo is a middle placement shot.

this advertising photographer shows the different angles and lighting and it appeals to me with the bright bold colors and eccentric sharpness of the camera .

i like the way the colors are sharp and bold they have sharpness to the contrast. i dislike the way the camera is angled in some of the pictures.

http://www.photographers.com.au/jackatley  image 48 of 124 is a beautiful set of a island with pure blue sea and golden sands the light is natural with a blurred effect around the edges as if to say this is a dream island and might have been photo shopped to give it that sense of wonder and amazement.

http://www.photographers.com.au/www-ianwilsonphotography-com-au    image 9 of 26 is the image of an animal (owl) which is a very gorgeous animal the background is dark the comparison if the dark and light gives a defined sharpness to the owl’s feathers.

My own work!!!! (task3)

The following images are my own work.

I took this photo whilst i was on holiday i saw how the tower stuck out within the Paris streets, the lines of the tower draw the eye to the top of the picture but i strongly feel the  layering of clouds give the streets below character and definition.

this is again a photo i took on another holiday there is a lot of color in this picture which builds up into more layers.The rocks at the bottom of the photo give a break in the photo separating the greenery.

This photo is from the UAE Dubai were I went on holiday I took this photo as it became dark and the lights reflected into the creek. The silluotes of the buildings gave a sense height and reflection to look at.

Evaluation!!! (task4)

In this post i will evaluate my work and will include the following aspects:

• Target audience
• historical and cultural context
• production
• Reflection/self evaluation

my photographs are of landscape and also involve buildings my target audience is female aged between 16-35 i believe this is the target audience as many women (like myself) see the beauty in landscape pictures people who may be intrerested in this kind of photography include wealthy people who pay for alot of moeny for landscape portraits and middle class people who see the value of these pictures.

My pictures show how the history of these places is changing dramatically by buildings and development of cultures of these places my work relates to these places showing their famous landmarks it  show social class and background how some thing so famous can be in such a places where there is recession.

my progress was very slow it takes a while for me to decide what these photo’s mean to me i still struggle with photo shop so my technical ability can be improved a lot but i have a lot of creativity which i find it hard to express when i have so much trouble with photo shop.

i have time managed my work well i have given myself enough time to consider different pictures and difference specialisms and also tried to fit some photo shop work in between that.

On reflecting on my work i have had some negative feedback and a lot of positive feedback the people that gave me feedback have said that my work is very touristy and that it shows a lot of culture from the places i have visited the positive feedback included that it makes the audience want to learn more from the place shown in the picture. The negative reply was that it looks too planned and rehersed. I am pleased i picked landscaping for my chosen specialism it was an easy thing to take photos of seeing as landscape is all around us.

I have learnt my abilities from this project i’m not good a photo shop but on the plus side i know how to take a decent photo thinking about the way it will come out i know know a lot more about camera angles and focusing and de-foucusing to make a picture look its best. from all my completed work i like the picture taking lesson self learning on how to get used to the camera the lessons i disliked the most were lessons on just photo shop i really need some one to one lessons just to get used to the different concepts and buttons i can do simple things like changing colours and layers images and slightly animate things i would like to learn more manipulations to give myself better confidence on photo shop.
I believe i can only improve on what i have already done to get higher marks by seeing what i have done is good but know i can do much better.

I have disscussed places i could take pictures of but i believe amatuer holiday snaps will make my work more believeable.

Influences Intresting and Inspiring Images! (task3)

Influences, intresting and inspiring images : landscapes that i find intresting are tourist places which show what you have seen and done whilst in that specific holiday spot

I am inspired by images which include buildings like famous landmarks like the Effiel Tower and the Burj Dubai which all light up and give effects on the landscape around it.

Images for specified purpose (Task 3!)

In this post I will compile research, notes, evidence of planning and test shots of a chosen specialism. The specialism I have chosen is landscape.

My research will consist of famous landscape photographers and some of their work.

Why I like their work and where I would see their work in magazines.

and then finally i shall take some shots of my preferred images in which i feel show some influence to these people.There was no planning in my photo’s as they were mainly taken on holidays being tourist shots.

RESEARCH :

Ed Collacott is a landscape photographer who has  a passion for landscape he has a well known reputation as a fine landscape photographer some of his well known work includes

Snowdonia National Park. This image has a lot of reflection which makes me feel like im really there. the contrast of the blue and white gives a cold feeling, making me think that this photo was taken somewhere in the  french alps even though it was taken in Wales. The kind of magazines which would publish this kind of photography would include brochures of wales and hiking magazines to show some of the view that people are attracted to in wales.

 

Photographic Techniques! (task 2)

In this post I will explain the differences between film and digital cameras. I will also look at  lenses,lighting,flash and tripod.

The main difference between a Film camera and a Digital camera is that most cameras have gone digital anyways so the old film cameras arent as common as they used to be.

lenses come in all sorts of forms such as the fish-eye lens which gives an angel of  upto 180 degrees and the soft-focus lens which gives a some how blurred image but not out of focus to soften sharpness

lighting: there are many ways to light up a picture in the studio lights are used to give the picture an certain effect. In photoshop, light can be manipulated to give the same effect.

tripods are used to prevent camera movement in both still and motions pictures this also stops camera shake tripods are also effective in framing the image or images.

I will also be looking at technical aspects such as: Aperture, Shutter Speed, Focus point, Focus length, ISO and digital manipulation

Aperture is a hole or opening in which light travels through there are 2 types of aperture narrow and wide. Narrow aperture  results in a sharpness of image plane whilst Wide aperture will result in a sharpness with the right focual length only.

Shutter Speed is a common term for exposure time the length of time the shutter is open for example on the right we see a flash of light in which the extended exposure time would be about 15 seconds. there are several shutter speeds which all manipulate photo’s.

Focus Point is when the camera is put in focus for a certain area making the area surround that image point blurred to show foucus on one image.

Focus Length is a measurment of how strong the image is focuses or defocuses light. longer focal length is associated with magnifation of distant objects and narrower angle of view whereas shorter focal length is a wider angle  of view.

ISO is a system which measures the film speed and was created by the international organization for standardisation.

Digital Manipulation in photoshop consists of many things alot can be acomplished in photoshop if you know how to use it as long as you layer every image and work from the top all mistakes can be turned into art
